Read beyond the task feed.
A reward and a short brief are not all the conditions of a paid claim.

The 2.25-USDC example
Taskmarket task TSK-B63N2D49 requested a Python tracking-number extractor. Its open-feed row advertised 2.25 USDC on Base and a 20% stake. The detail response explicitly reported enforcedClaimStake: "450000": 0.45 USDC up front.
The feed row did not include hookContract or hooks. The full detail did: two hook addresses, with hookContract set to 0x4df114476c93b4266f0a7525b81e56f4a886b321. A hook is additional contract logic; its presence is relevant to understanding executable conditions.
Decision: clarify before staking. We have not verified what this hook does. An extra hook alone is not evidence of fraud, malicious behavior or a platform defect.
What the cash figures mean
2.25 × 20% = 0.45 USDC required stake. That is up-front cash at risk, not automatically a fee or a guaranteed refundable deposit. The detail also supplies rejection, release and review-window terms; read them before committing.
The API reports booked escrow. We did not independently verify the balance, hook behavior, transaction costs or successful payout. This case involved no claim or payment: spend 0 USDC, customer revenue 0 USDC.
Five checks before a paid claim
- Full task: read detail, current status, deadline and eligibility, not only the feed.
- Cash and penalties: convert stake units and inspect rejection, release and review terms.
- Extra contract logic: identify every hook; obtain verified code or authoritative documentation explaining what it can affect.
- Funding: distinguish provider escrow labels from independently verified funds and settlement.
- Exact action: keep wallet exposure bounded and inspect the transaction before signing. If the conditions remain unclear before the deadline, skip the claim.
Sources and limits
- Public open-task feed — task-specific excerpt and retrieval time in the JSON.
- Public task detail — stake, hook addresses and terms.
These are separately timed snapshots of one task. Status may change. No code execution, hook audit, claim, delivery or payment was performed, and this is not a judgment of the marketplace overall.

Check the terms before you commit
One public task or API offer, up to two primary sources: costs, eligibility, deadlines, stated payment path and explicit unknowns. A source review, not a smart-contract audit or payout guarantee.
